Yes... Missing in action from here for awhile... Which goes to show I have not traveled any more, well, at least to bloggable places (with photos)... :D Has not been doing much other than work... How nice that the drought of no public holidays has finally ended... Hari Raya was just over, and we are getting another holiday next month.. Yipee!! Hey, once you started to work, you tend to look forward to these days... You might not have anything to do on that day, but at least you are not working... No? Wait till you have work for awhile... I am not kidding... I have not heard anyone grumbles about public holidays... Well, unless you are workaholic, then you might just work from home on those days...
So... What did you do on that day? Me? Not sure what I did for the morning but... I finally caught 881 on the big screen, and... it was because my mum wanted to watch it. Yup, she was harping about the cinema is only has 1 show on sat, etc... So in the end, promised her that I would watch it with her... Not that I don't want to watch it, but, well, I just realised that I am no longer that enthusiastic about catching a movie... It's true, I even missed the Bourne Ultimatum when it was screened... I had already watched the other parts of that Trilogy (I assumed it;s trilogy, based on the books, but who knows what they might come up with), just did not get that chance or made the effort, I supposed, when it was screened. By the time I got around it, it was like 881, where only 1 show per day... I did managed to catch Hair Spray (and John Travolta was hilarious; I cannot believe James Marsden could sing!!!)
Ok... before I proceed, if you have not watch 881 (which I doubt) and would not want to know too much of it as you want to get the VCD/DVD/whatever form... Then don't read, but seriously... I think I was the last to watch it...
I have mixed view on 881. It's kind of corny in some parts, I mean, rattling out all once popular song names to plead with the "goddess" was really corny, but hilarious (My mother was wondering why I was laughing away during that scene). Then all the "special effects" coming out of a durian shell-like bra is - wonder why there where no such dressing for the papaya sisters??!? Hmmm... One of the mysteries of the show, I supposed, or, it does not look nice with papaya as compared to durian?!?!? Madonna must have been proud that someone took her cone-shaped bra of her not-so-long-ago wardrobe, and transform it to this... Bet she is not happy that she did not think of those light effects... :P
Ok, the cancer on the younger one, it gets to me, I did shed a little tear, here and there... But I like that last portion of the "last days"... Singing the song, and revolving round and round, and showing the effects of chemotherapy and showing how weaker she became and till she died... That I find is a nice way to effect the changes... and to bring the story to an end, although the start and end seems abrupt... and loads of Hokkien songs in between. Did anyone noticed that it's all sad songs? All about hard life, and how bad it was, etc... Not sure why, but that's all I hear in the show; wonder if it's the same in actual life. I am certain it must have, but yet, I am rather mystified by it. Why would anyone still want to listen to those type of songs, especially in that month!!!
Finally, did anyone catch why it's 881? Is there some significant about that number? Must have let that slip somewhere... Of course there are more, but nevermind... However, for just to sake of trying to figure out how many song titles were exactly in that long plead... I might just get the DVD and replay that again and again till I get all of them.... :P
Hmmm... Enchanted seems like a hilarious one as well, based on the trailer... But, I am certain, by the time I get round to a decision, it would have been gone as well... Oh, such is my life...

Traveling...
Yes, I am now in Doha airport with a 4 hour layover on my way to Madrid... Did not really had a good flight due to lack of sleep and so far, my headache is getting to my head that I am not certain if I could sleep on the next leg of flight and chase that headache away...
No matter what, I am determined to enjoy my time in Spain and will see how it goes in terms of photos... Just tried the IR at the airport and not quite successful I think... No matter will try it again sometime during this trip....
Meantime... How to survive another 3 hours....
I am using the internet point at the airport to do this.... At least there are something like this to help....

Rest....
Finally after so many months of constant pressure of work and stuff, I am getting some rest... Yup, I am having a 2-day holidays after a hectic week of go live support and the constant barrage of issues and things to do. You can tell that it's too much when you feel headache by just looking at some requests that you need to reply to... and feeling your blood pressure goes up when trying to answer them....
As much as I would want to make a trip somewhere just to take a break, it did not work out that well, due to dates (yes, another intensive 2 -3 months ahead again!!) and also the lateness in planning (as well as the discovery of not having enough $$$ to pay for the trip...) So, the holiday trip is postponed and hopefully by then would have save enough... Setting Spain as the next target around next year CNY period.
Kind of weird to be not working... Am resisting the temptation to download emails on my laptop to see what has been filling up my mail box... However, I also realised that, even with days off, I still had some housekeeping things to do... Like getting rid of old papers which includes bills and accounts info, etc (way back to 1998) and looks like a long proccess... I am only going through the 2nd bag and I think I have about 4 more to go....
Meantime, since I have change to a new car, I just realised that the insurance for the old car has not been cancelled and due to the hetic schedule, I had left it out till today... Going to make a trip to their office tomorrow to see if they can refund me from the time the car was sold, instead of notification time...
Oh well... Back to the grind on Wednesday... Have to make sure I enjoy this break...

Weird Feeling...
It's kind of weird to be up and watching DVDs at 4am. Not that I do not wish to sleep, but this week I am doing graveyard shift for a site 'going live'. Thus....
You get to sit in a room, having your lappie in front of you, with not much stuff happening that needs your attention and you get to surf all you like since most of the time, you are left alone to concentration on supporting the site... So what you do? Bring your arsenal of DVDs, and meticulously goes through them one by one to help you to pass the time by... Sounds good for some, not that good for others....
The bad thing about it is that you have already gone through at least once for each and every DVD that you have bought... And of course you would rent some, but working in this shift makes it harder to bring yourself out to the rental shops to get it... On the other hand it would be great chance to enrol in those rental schemes where they mail the rented DVDs over and you can drop it off the post office once you finish them... On the other hand, it's a monthly payment thingy IIRC, and well, its only for 1 week... Not really into it as well, unless they have R1 or R2 DVDs available, instead they usually only have R3 DVDs, which most of them do lack in the extras to the DVDs... Except maybe the more recent DVD releases, like Narnia - apparently the only difference between R1 CE and R3 CE is that R1 has DTS track...
Anyway, it's back to DVDs for me... Hmmm... Maybe I should rewatch the Battlestar Galatica Season 1 DVDs.... Which is not with me at the moment... Yeah... Maybe... Meantime... It's Yesterday Once More...

Hmmm.....
| You Are 90% Boyish and 10% Girlish |
You have a tough exterior - and usually a tough interior to match it. You're no nonsense, logical, and very assertive. Sometimes you can't understand women at all, even if you're a woman yourself. You see things rationally, and don't like to let your emotions get the best of you. |
Er... Interesting... :p

Have you Googled?!?!
Nearly fell asleep when I was trying to redo my video using another editing program, so I decided to stop and read some of the blogs which I have not been doing for the pass few days... Came across this entry in the blog talking about googling your name...Found the idea interesting, so decided to try it...
I did not know that I was a scriptwriter for some digimon series(!!!), the John Doe series(!!!), and Las Vegas series(!!!), and creative associate in Xena: Warrior Princess; was an architecture student in the Tyler School of Art, Temple University and wrote a study which is published in the web; (Oh!) A speaker for this talk on "Your future and how to get there" jointly organised by Canadian Alumni Singapore & Graduate Students Society @ NUS; (Ooo...) Featured in IP Links; a reporter for Malaysia's The Star; A Senior Manager for Cushman & Wakefield Beijing; etc, etc, etc... But nothing to point to me!!! Ahahahahaha.....
However, I think 2 of them happens to be my current worldwide colleagues... Yup, if I were to whip up the office email address book, there are 3 email accounts with the same name but different business units... They got feature somewhere in the google pages... I did not... Funny...
Oh well... Time to sleep... ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz

Some Ramblings.....
Alright... EPL is back again... Just finish the Everton vs Man U match... Nice start to the season... Man U won 2-0!!! Park Ji Sung had his first appearance (Giggs had chest infection), and well, he did quite well for the start. Practically see him running everywhere, including right side of the field although he was supposedly left winger... But man, Man U has to buck up, Everton practically had possession of the ball most of the time, just that they were rather unlucky in their finishing... Maybe that's a good sign for Van der Sar.
Don't know why... But lately everyone seems to be in the habit of blogging how they start the relationship with their other half... Maybe it's because of the akan datang wedding of Mis Snooze and Mr Teh Peng.... She is so excited about it... Infect the rest of them.... Must be lah... Wait.. .Or was it Ms Tehsi who started it... Whatever.... Because of that, now I am rather curious on how beanbean and her other half started.... Dang... I am becoming nosy again... Haiz... Me? I guess you got to WLL for it. (You can't say much if there is nothing, can you?? :P)
Anyway, I think my life has become a routine... Every Saturday, you will, with no doubt, find me in IMM. To be precise, Giant Supermarket in IMM!!!! Maybe Giant should come up with something for their regular customers cos, without fail, my mum will be going there, week in, week out, shopping for her groceries. Now that my aunt is not in Singapore, I had to follow my mum into the supermarket - What else but to take charge of the shopping cart!!! Haiz... When is my aunt coming back?!?!? I am really bored and sick of that place... It got to the point that I am now carrying my mp3 player and listening to it while I am in there... If not, try to find topics to sms to people... Sometimes, life can be rather pathetic, especially when it becomes a routine....
Went to look for some new DVDs to buy (since LaserFlair is there)... Well, came back empty handed. Was looking for "Bride & Prejudice" R1 version so that I can compare the diff between the R1 and R3 version (R3 was out quite awhile) but still could not find it... I guess it will take ages to arrive in SG. Now I know a friend of mine blasted this movie for being too stereotyping but well, surprisingly, I enjoyed the movie. If you want a no-brainer, easy going and of course with the usual Bollywood's "bursting into dancing and singing" style of movie and throwing in a romantic comedy (I think it's a comedy, I mean... "No wife, no life"?!?! And you can make a song out of that!?!? Now how can that be not comedy?) - this is it! It's quite easy to pass the time watching this... I watch it twice on the plane... And still am thinking of getting the DVD.... Hopefully my friend will not know of this... Heh....
The other "contender" would be Wedding Date. First caught it was on the SQ flight, on my way to Newark. Then watch it again when I flew back to SG.... Hmmm..... Another romantic comedy again... Oh well, Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith DVD will only be here end of the year... Judge is still out on whether to get the latest Batman DVD - since I have not seen that movie yet, as well as on the LOTR series... Somehow I am not addicted to that trilogy... Maybe it's because I have not really seen it, well, except for the 1st one... Saw the old Battlestar Galatica TV series DVD, but boy, it's almost $160! No way I will spend that much on 1 series... I think the last DVD that I spent that much was for the Band of Brothers DVD, imported from US. (Sad to say, cannot play Episode 1 now as the top layer had a small hole which makes viewing not possible.... Cry ah!)
Anyway, I am getting restless and the "urge" to buy DVDs are back.... Serious.... I am now even watching a HK TVBI drama serial - Triumph in the Skies (courtesy of my coz). Anyone else got some DVDs/VCDs that I could watch... Hmm... If I remember correctly Ms Snooze got CSI DVDs, yeah... Should borrow that from her... Oh, I tend to start watching when I am going under stress.... It's a de-stressing trait I have... Other than eating.... Heh...
Ok...Time to get back to the drama serial... Now which episode did I stop on.... Hmm....

Ice Cream!!!! Well.... What type of B&J's Ice Cream I should be..... :p
Heh.... Interesting topic.... ICE CREAM!!!! But 66% SWEET???? I am not sure about that... I think I did tried this favour once.... Never did really like it... Much prefer the "New York... whatever" favour... Heh...
| COOKIE DOUGH! You scored 66% SWEET, 51% CHUNKY, and 37% UNIQUE! |
| vanilla ice cream with gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough You're an oldie, but goodie...the now-classic chocolate chip cookie dough. It's sweet, but not overwhelmingly so, and has just the right amount of chunks. You make a good friend and your wild streak shows itself every now and then...enough to make things interesting. You prefer to stick with what you know, but sometimes can't help getting a little crazy. |

Bored.... Again....
The Keys to Your Heart |
You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart. |
In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored. |
You'd like to your lover to think you are optimistic and happy. |
You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please. |
Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with. |
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment. |
You think of marriage as something that will confine you. You are afraid of marriage. |
In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily. |
Hmmm..... Suprisingly... It's quite true... Heh... Well, except for the afraid of marriage confining me... I think it's more like getting married to a person who might turn out to be wrong for you... Seeing so many broken marriages lately that I guess I wonder why they got married in the first place...
Your Birthdate: November 19 |
Your birth on the 19th day of the month adds a tone of independence and extra energy to your life path. But at the same time, it poses a number of obstacles to overcome before you are able to be as independent as you would like. The number 1 energy suggests more executive ability and leadership qualities than your path may have indicated. A birthday on the 19th of any month gives greater will power and self-confidence, and very often a rather original approach. However, a somewhat self-centered approach to life that may be in conflict with some of the other influences in your life. This 1 energy may diminish your ability and desire to handle details, preferring instead to paint with a broad brush. You are sensitive, but your feeling stay somewhat repressed. You have a compelling manner that can be dominating in many situations. You do not tend to follow convention or take advice very well. Consequently, you tend to learn through experience; sometimes hard experiences. The 19/1 is a loner number and you may experience feelings of being alone even if you are married. You may take on a tendency to be nervous and angry. |
Hmmm..... Ok... It's official... I'm a loner... Haiz... :p

Night of Meaningless quizes
See... I am bored.... So....
Enough?!???!?
|
You Are a German Shepherd Puppy |
Intelligent, quick witted, and a bit aggressive. You've got the jaw power to take a bite out of anyone you choose. |
|
Your Dominant Intelligence is Logical-Mathematical Intelligence |
You are great at finding patterns and relationships between things. Always curious about how things work, you love to set up experiments. You need for the world to make sense - and are good at making sense of it. You have a head for numbers and math ... and you can solve almost any logic puzzle. You would make a great scientist, engineer, computer programmer, researcher, accountant, or mathematician. |
|
Your EQ is |
|
50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick! 51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese. 71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely. 91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that. 111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt. 131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin. 150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar. |
|
You Are a Seeker Soul |
You are on a quest for knowledge and life challenges. You love to be curious and ask a ton of questions. Since you know so much, you make for an interesting conversationalist. Mentally alert, you can outwit almost anyone (and have fun doing it!). Very introspective, you can be silently critical of others. And your quiet nature makes it difficult for people to get to know you. You see yourself as a philosopher, and you take everything philosophically. Your main talent is expressing and communicating ideas. Souls you are most compatible with: Hunter Soul and Visionary Soul |
|
You Are the Investigator |
|
5 You're independent - and a logical analytical thinker. You love learning and ideas... and know things no one else does. Bored by small talk, you refuse to participate in boring conversations. You are open minded. A visionary. You understand the world and may change it. |

Artist Type!?!?!??!
Got this off a friend's blog... Thought it would be fun to try out... Bored anyway... But man, the result is a bit unexpected.
I'm exceptionally artistic!
Find your soul type at kelly.moranweb.com.
Fair enough. Perhaps they haven't. But now that you know, you must become one with your inner self.
Virtues: You look for immense creativity and individuality in people, including yourself. You're not happy with anything less than brilliant, and you focus on being expressive. You value energy, liveliness, and upbeat personalities, but you're not supportive of moodiness when you yourself can be unreliably moody. Seeking activity, you like the bustle of business but need the secluded atmosphere of a studio or private corner.
Aspirations: You feel the need to express your talents, whether it be through writing, drawing, singing, dancing, composing, performing, or photographing. While you strive to ever improve your work, you want to display it as soon as possible when your impatience kicks in. You want to be a prodigy but you might not have the means right at your fingertips. Trust me, do NOT move to New York to do it. Yeesh!
Quirks: Conformists bother you because of their lack of individuality. You're often late or unreliable. You're showy and refuse to share the spotlight. You only tell little white lies. You worm your way into the hearts of others, but be careful; some people despise the show-offs.
Factors: Surround yourself with activity and you'll always have material to work with. Involve friends and family in your projects so they don't feel like envious outsiders.
Future: Show business or not, you'll settle down happily if you're among those who appreciate your natural talents and desire to perform. Don't stay in one place too long, and don't be too hasty in defining your relationships. Who are you to judge what only time will tell?
I'm exceptionally artistic!

Yeesh!

Bored and feeling rather blue....
Ok... I am bored... It's kind of funny, cause I just (finally) got myself a new DSLR (Nikon D70) as a birthday present to myself (That's another topic of it own, by the way). Yet, here I am, talking about boredness...
Took the Friends Quiz (link from one of my friend's blog - Ok... When I get bored, I take such quizzes, don't ask me why; I have not found out the answer yet) and was told that I'm most identified with is the Ross character... Hmmm... I guess I can figure why it was that. I mean, frankly, I am unique (ok, weird, if you want to put it plainly), at least from 95% of the population in the country. My views have been and will, I guess, always be different. Infact sometimes, I wonder if I do have a view at all. It's a habit I had is that I tend to think from all angles, and that puts me at the fence. Of course, when my temper rises, that method of thoughts are thrown totally out of the window... But, majority of the time, well, I tend to be that. It gets to a point where sometimes, I don't even really know myself.
Frankly, I sometimes wonder if anyone really knows me at all. I mean, if I don't know myself at all, how could someone else knows me??? Am I a generous person? Am I a bitter person? Do I have the "green" eye? These are general characteristics which most of the time can be felt/distinguished by our actions/words. How about the unknown? The thoughts that gathers in my head; The pains that I felt but yet unknown to people; The vulnerablilities that I feel but yet not presented to the world; The fears that I have concerning everything that I have contact with; etc... etc.. etc...
Sometimes I wonder if the trials that we had faced - does it really makes you stronger? Or does it make the next trial even harder to face? Will any of those that you had faced and conquered, comes back in a bigger manifestation than it did previously? Like the depression that you have faced and thought conquered, does it comes back and in a bigger way that you have not expected it to? Why did I ask, well... I guess it seems to me that I am feeling rather blue again, despite the fact that there is nothing much to be depress about... Then again, does it really need a matter to start? Or even, without any visible cause, it will still comes back and haunt you and taunt you? Trying it's way to win this new battle? Or is there really something in the far corner of your subconcious mind that had brewed and grow to the point where it cannot be hidden from your concious mind and thus it starts it's blooming?
Nevermind... Stomach growling and eyes growing rather weary... time to ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

*Another few of those funny quizzes*
| How to make a Visible, Invisible |
| Ingredients:
5 parts pride 1 part ambition 1 part leadership |
| Method:
Layer ingredientes in a shot glass. Add a little cocktail umbrella and a dash of fitness |
Hmm.... Pride, Ambition and Leadership.... Very Interesting they got here.... Add a dash of fitness as well. I guess without fitness, with all those ingredients, it will not go far.... Heh. Wow, 5 parts of pride - Is pride really that much a part of me? While I might be proud of what I have accomplished in my life, I seriously doubt there is anymore pride in me than anyone else. Compared to most of my peers, I have nothing much to show - other than I have survived in this rat race of today. I am not highly paid, not in management position (as some of my peers are), nothing to show acomplishment in the arts or sports arena. Nothing! So how prideful can that be? Maybe I am proud of the fact I have non of those?!?! But then, what's there to be proud of anyway - proud of accomplish nothing!??!
Ambition. Well, yes I can be ambitious, but I think the last retrenchment has shown me otherwise, what's the use of being ambitious when you can be retrenched anytime when the company is not doing well? Maybe, it's because I'm between projects, they can "spare" the person... I don't know, but I was retrenched, and that puts the amibition bit to bed. I know I am not someone with much business sense to survive having my own business, so no point of pushing in that direction. I tend to do better as a troubleshooter than anything else.
We come to the last point - Leadership. What is leadership? Until now, I have no idea on what leadership really means. Does it mean that if you are a leader; you direct, people follow? Or is it that you are to coach and guide people such that they can be better in what they are doing? I don't know, only thing is that I have no idea what they mean for the last ingredient, especially for a person that does not like the limelight! Why do you think this name of "Visible, Invisible" is used anyway? Yes I am visible to the world, but yet I prefer to be invisible, well, at least not in the frontline anyway. Don't think I would make it in politics with this.... Heh. Not that I am thinking about it...
| Your Icecream Flavour is...Neopolitan! |
You aren't satisfied with just one flavor. They say variety is the spice of life and this shines through in your Ice cream of choice! Just don't eat all the chocolate and leave the strawberry and vanilla behind! |
Ahahahaha... This is funny... I love chocolate and hate strawberry... But yes, I love variety, maybe they should use another mix of flavours (but leave the chocolate in there)!!!!
