Right... Photos of my Helsinki/Paris trip has finally been loaded... Ran out of space in Flickr (ok, me cheapo, dun want to pay...), so I had to spend some time figure what to do next...
Anyway... Here they are....
This is the other side of the station where the first Holiday Inn hotel was at....
This is somewhere near the train station, at the end of the botanical gardens, facing one of the many lakes (I think) area Helsinki.
While walking around the botanical gardens (before we hit the above area), saw lots of seagulls around... Managed to get this shot that is not too bad...
Alexander Czar II statue at Senate Sq. This square is supposedly the most photographed and easily recognised place in Helsinki. The Finnish restaurant is just opposite this place.
Statue fountain just next to Market Square. This area is where the tram stops. There is also another tram (it's a pub tram!) that stops here as well.
This is one of the Orthodox churches found in Helsinki, and it's the "prettiest" with its golden domes. It's very near to Market Square, thus you can see the domes from Market Square.
This is the interior of the "Rock" church. The church was built somewhere around 1969, and it's a very popular spot with tourist as it's a church that is built with rocks that were naturally there. The acoustic of the church is quite good too, especially for the pipe organ!
A closer look at the wall... with the lilted candles in front of it...
The only underwater shot that is clear... This is SweetLips according to the labels. Somehow it's very difficult to take pictures in the Underwater Museum in Helsinki. It's just next to the amusement park!
Swaying Daisies (I think it's Daisies) along the coast of Suomenlinna Fortress Island, blown by the slightly cold Baltic wind. Pity that it was a cloudy, slight drizzle day we chose to visit the island...
Old canon wheel abandon at Suomenlinna Fotress Island.
Paris photos to follow....
